Back in Business

(English, good Sir)

Lots of stuff happened since April 23rd. Here’s an update, in no chronological order:

- Successfully obtained a college degree. Not so lucky on my Green Card…yet.

- Visited friends in Miami…also known as Venezuela’s Sister country. Put to use my Spanglish…hilarity ensued.

- World Cup started and will soon end. Emotions galore.

- Ran into what I would call a ‘Latin Society’…a collection of Lawrence’s finest Hispanic Students. Including two fellow Venezuelans. My Latin culture has infinitely enriched thanks to this not-so-secret society.

  • I’m set on perfecting learning a legit Mexican accent thanks to my interactions with a prime member and being pointed to these priceless cartoons on YouTube.
  • Enjoyed and suffered the South American victories and defeats in the World Cup like few sporting events in my life. The last Paraguayan victory in particular, was intense.

- My casi-bro Greivis Vasquez has been drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Got temporarily rich…then temporarily poor. Multiple times. Amazingly, no gambling involved.

- Decided not to immediately (Fall) attend Grad School and instead begin the quest for my dream job. (Hint: Memphis Grizzlies).

- Once again, I am thoroughly submerged in the sport of tennis. At the moment, I’m kicking ass and taking names playing some of my best tennis ever. It ain’t cheap, but utter competitiveness and satisfaction usually aren’t.

- Have made great progress towards getting back my lost Italian. Studied it for 7 years while in elementary/middle school. La dolce vita mi aspetta, ragazzi!

- May or may not definitely leave the State of Kansas by July 31st, 2010.

- Made my Twitter account private. My fear of being kidnapped is greater than my desired to entertain and convey great information. #TastelessJokeAboutLatinAmerica

Stay tuned…I will be writing this month. If you don’t have a general idea about my next topic(s), you probably shouldn’t be reading Guaro en USA.*

(Spanish-ish)

PD.

Parliamo l’inglese!

*If you are a current/future authoritative figure in my life, you shouldn’t be reading GEU either. Leave now.
